The Official Home of Golf

Of course many people come to St Andrews for golf and no wonder as it is the original home of golf and does boast six course in the town plus another three on the outskirts as well as many others in surrounding towns within very easy reach. St Andrews Old Course dates back to circa 1325 and recognised as the home of golf. note: the handicap limit for play on the Old Course is Men: 24, Ladies: 36.

There is a very helpful one stop booking service which can help you with a golfing plan. The courses are suitable for all ages and abilities. Seniors are especially welcomed.

With so many miles of coastline it's hardly surprising that many of Scotland's best walks are coastal walks which, in many areas can be used for walks from village to village.

There are  many well sign posted walks and rambles all over the area. Again we would be pleased to help you put together a walking programme for your free day and for non-painting partners.

St Andrews Botanic Gardens   

First laid out in 1889 St Andrews Botanic Gardens were originally used for teaching and research for the University. Enjoy ponds, waterfall, rock garden and peat garden and a wide variety of plants, trees and shrubs in tranquil settings.

Byre Theatre

A lively and vibrant theatre which houses travelling troupes and residential company productions. There is always a colourful summer theatrical delight to attract you in.

The British Museum of Golf

St Andrews is the only town with a museum dedicated to golf.
