SOME KIND
WORDS FROM OUR GUESTS ON OUR PAINTING HOLIDAYS
2004/5/6/7
Hola Gill & Eddy
I have just returned from Devon and
another painting workshop, which was arranged by my friend. I got on
quite well, Eddy having given me more confidence - it was pen and paint
- different!
Thank you both very much for a truly
relaxing and very informative painting holiday. I hope to try and do a
lot of work on perspective - everything really. The thing is I enjoy
painting and since I have started, found it to be therapeutic as well as
relaxing, which I was very much in the need of. I loved the informal
approach. I know I made the right choice of holiday and hope to visit
Ojen and the lovely people again in the future - so its no good r u n n
i n g away!
Many thanks again and it was lovely to
meet you both.
Adios for the time being

Hi Gill and Eddie,
Think about you both often, and the 'fun'
time we spent with you in Spain. The card with Eddie's picture of the
Church, and the sentiments therein are much cherished , and are now
framed for posterity !!!
Hope you and your family had a great
Christmas, and wish you all a very Happy New Year.
Be nice to think we could all meet up again
one day - who knows??!!
Keep up the good work,
Much love

Dear Gill and Eddie
It was a great privilege to work
alongside a professional artist. I have very much enjoyed it, have learnt a lot
and have much enjoyed the company.
Best wishes. Ewan. Sept 06

A
short note to thank you for our superb week in Ojén. Isabelle and I had a
wonderful time. I really enjoyed the painting and felt I improved
dramatically over the week. Not having lifted a paint brush in twenty-five
years, I was feeling very unsure of myself at the start of the week. By
Tuesday Eddie had inspired me with confidence and I felt comfortable and
very relaxed as we tackled each subject. By Wednesday, I realised how much I
didn’t know (!) but Eddie’s deft tuition got me back on track, so that by
Friday I felt I had really achieved something over the five days. As an NPP
(non-painting partner), Isabelle really enjoyed her week – the Posada del
Angel is a real haven of peace and tranquillity, and the gentle walks around
the village add to the sense of experiencing the real Andalucían lifestyle.
Part
of the pleasure too, was spending time with the other participants and
watching their progress over the week. What more could we ask for – peaceful
painting, Andalucían sunshine, expert guides, great company and of course,
the odd glass of rioja! ¡Qué maravilloso!
Best
wishes

hi gill and eddie...
what a great week painting! it was hard work and i learnt so much.
eddie you are "fantastico" :) so passionate - not just as an artist - but
as a teacher as well because you really care that your student learns.
no question is too dumb and no matter how much "into" your painting you
were, you stopped immediately each time i interrupted you with
"help"!!! the fact that you paint with us is very valuable. and you are
sooooooo extremely talented!
i could FINALLY see the colours in white as you saw them and yes, the
white walls are anything but white. i learnt about interpretation from
you which has given me the confidence to just "do". whilst terribly
self-critical, i was very happy with my end products (as were my husband
and son). so i thank you for the confidence and the encouragement
which have left me with a geater sense of freedom and zeal than ever
before.
ojen is a pretty village and once the residents get used to seeing you
around, their welcome is evident in small but genuine gestures such as
the the one from a lady who brought us oranges from her garden as we
painted outside her house. the spontaneously offered delicious tea from
the english ladies who live in ojen certainly deserve a mention :)
gill, your encouragement and organisation were very appreciated and i
hope you both enjoy the forthcoming months and hopefully, all being
well, we look forward to seeing you again next year!

Hi Gill, Well we're back home to grey skies but the magic of our week in
Ojen will stay with us forever. I will write very soon enclosing photographs
I had developed today, which are great. I do hope Charlotte has enjoyed every
single minute of her time as much as we did. Eddie is a phenomenal in his
knowledge and more particularly for us, his power in teaching and patience
to help us to achieve paintings of which, after only one week, we can't
believe we actually did. And you -m well you were fantastically wonderful
in organising this amazing treat for Stephen (despite the number of stools
he broke!), booking La Posada (please tell Franck we have already begun to
spread the word about his hotel), and arranging the most delicious and
lovely restaurants. You did everything with the most wonderful calmness
and sense of humour. We miss you all so much. Hope the season - and the
weather - continues to be good for you all. will be in touch very soon.
Love Veroinca and /Stephen.

Just to let you know that we have arrived home safe and sound - to the cold
and rain !! The CD of photos is a really nice touch and after showing off my
paintings to my partner Robert it was the first thing we looked at. We had
a really great time and a new experience which could not have been more
relaxing- thank you. We were really impressed with the care and attention
to detail that you put into our holiday and yet delivered it - both direct
and via the kind citizens of Ojen - with such a light touch. Please find
below one of the e-mails that awaited my return which I hope you enjoy -
and I hope that our paths cross again one day. Cheers Helen.

Hi Gill & Eddie. How are you? I want to tell you and Eddie thank you for
the great experience in Spain. I really enjoyed learning to paint from such
a great teacher. I admire how fast he mixed his paintings :) and how
spectacular his paintings are. I'm going to have a wonderfull memory of
the painting times with you two. I arrived to California on Friday night
and I'm back to work to tell about my great adventure in Spain.
Thank you again and again. Love, Natalia California. Nov 04

Hi Folks! Thank you so much for your part in my birthday celebrations – it was my most memorable
birthday ever! I was already painting on Monday and am set to paint today. I am going to spend a
lot of tomorrow on the web trying to sort out a let in Ojen. What John and I would like to do is
comeback to you for a week, and then instead of going home, stay on in Ojen in a let for several
weeks. Any advice you can offer will be gratefully received. You really are an amazing couple,
and I am so glad to have you part of my life.
Lots of Love from Janet xx September 2004-12-01. Scotland.

Dear Gill & Eddie, Many thanks for an extremely enjoyable week. The art sessions were excellent,
the company good, the food delicious and the wine plentiful. The photos were 1st class and I thank
you for them. I have tried a couple of the paintings again with the help from the photos and I am
almost pleased with them!. I hope you adjust quickly to your change of abode. With warm thanks
to you both, Gerry Oct 2005. Belfast.
